I’m so excited to read this book, I’m going to get it tomorrow! At first I was excited because I thought that it was actually going to be about gargoyles themselves, but then I read more about it and watched this. I’m still excited.

I found this little summary of one of the stories in it to be very sweet, and sad. Sounds good to me!

10 Year Old Explains He Won’t Pledge Allegiance to The Flag Until There is Liberty and Justice for All.

if i could be guaranteed to have a child like this, i would think about giving birth. is that alright?

i love this kid.  check out his awesome shirt.

What a great kid. His parents can be proud.

YES YES YES. This kid is amazing. I’m glad that someone in the younger generation is aware of this.

I just rediscovered this drawing that I did of Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey from the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What a brilliant film!!
It always gets me thinking about what would happen if we really did acquire the ability to erase people’s memories. Would you erase someone from your mind if you could? I have torn feelings about that. The part of me that says “no” makes the point that these events and people that we encounter that are “bad” help to shape us into the people we are today. But the part of me that says “yes” makes the point that we could avoid so much emotional suffering that way. Being happy is very important for me, and also very difficult because I find it ridiculously easy to hold onto negative feelings.
Anyhow…it’s an interesting subject to think about. I hope you like the drawing. :)

Joe Hisaishi composes the music for Hayao Miyazaki’s films. I’m not an anime fan at all, but I adore Miyazaki. All of his films are so powerful, and always leave a deep impression on me. One of the things that sticks out the most in my memory about my two favorite Miyazaki movies is the music. Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away both have AMAZING soundtracks. And I’m not much of a soundtrack person either!

This video is a performance of the song “The Sixth Station” from Spirited Away. It’s probably my absolute favorite. I cry every time I hear it! “The Dragon Boy” is a close second, and the performance of that can be found here:

She’s not angry at all, but proud to show me her brand new skill  : the “one side only” raised eyebrow. I’m a little jealous because I’m very bad at it. Maybe she got this from my dad, who was also able to move his ears, one after the other.

It’s impossible for your day NOT to be brightened after seeing this! :D Oh Capucine, you’re precious.

Vintage Pattern Lending Library

The VPLL is dedicated to preserving vintage patterns from the 1800’s-1950’s. They lend patterns to members of the library, and you can also purchase patterns for a VERY good price, member or not!

I’m going to start collecting the 1920’s patterns. I’d LOVE to dress like that.

Shark Hat!!

I NEED THIS HAT!! The dragon hat that she made is also adorable, and something I should have in my collection, but Shark Hat is first priority!

I saw Where The Wild Things Are today! It’s one of the greatest, heartwarming films I’ve seen in a long time. Very deep and dark. I think that kids would be entertained, but probably scared at some parts. It’s more of a film for adults, actually! I recommend it very very very much.

Amanda Palmer is one of my favorite artists of all time. I ADORE HER. I got to see her live, meet her, and she signed a drawing of her that I did. It was the most magical experience ever. I even got an Amanda hug. She gives the best hugs in the world.

Her album, all of the videos that accompany it, and the book are absolutely wonderful.

I stumbled upon this video on her vimeo account (http://www.vimeo.com/amandapalmer), and I’m so glad that I found it! I could listen to this woman talk all day.

I strongly encourage you to check her out! You can find all of her music videos there, as well as a few other goodies I do believe.

Not Feeling Wonderful

I’ve been feeling very depressed lately, and I’m having a hard time with school, finances, and trying to find a job. Feeling very negative, and am in need of some love. :(

All love is appreciated!
